APPEALS, WRITS, AND CIVIL LAW & MOTION
Attorney Quin Denvir, of counsel to the Sacramento law firm of Rothschild Wishek & Sands LLP, handles civil appeals and criminal appeals and petitions for extraordinary writs in State and Federal Courts, as well as law and motion matters in complex civil litigation. M. Bradley Wishek and Michael Rothschild handle pretrial criminal writs and criminal appeals in California Courts. Members of the firm have served as lead counsel in published opinions of the California Supreme Court and Court of Appeal, as well as the United States Supreme Court and the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit .
Mr. Denvir is a former member of the California Academy of Appellate Lawyers, the oldest lawyers' organization in the country dedicated solely to the practice of appellate law. Membership in the organization is limited to California lawyers with extensive experience in the appellate courts, and attorneys are elected to membership only after rigorous scrutiny of their skill in appellate practice. Mr. Denvir is also the former Chairperson of the Ninth Circuit Advisory Rules Committee.
Criminal Law
All of the firm's attorneys handle criminal pretrial writs. Post-conviction criminal appeals and writs where the client was represented by the firm at trial are handled by a different attorney who concentrates on appellate practice and who can evaluate the best issues to raise on appeal from a fresh perspective. Mr. Denvir handles most of the appeals and post-conviction writs for firm clients.
Civil Practice
Quin Denvir's reputation as an appellate specialist leads him to be called upon to handle civil appeals and to work with civil practitioners on particularly complex or novel issues, including civil law and motion and writ practice.
