Physical Therapy Board of California License Defense
The Physical Therapy Board of California is one of several professional regulatory boards and bureaus that exist within the Department of Consumer Affairs. The Board has the primary responsibility of licensing and regulating licensed physical therapists (PT) and physical therapist assistants (PTA) in California. Its stated mission is to promote and protect the interests of the people of California by the effective and consistent administration and enforcement of the Physical Therapy Practice Act. This mission dictates that the Board takes seriously all allegations of misconduct against a licensee. The Board will fully investigate all allegations of misconduct including improper billing practices, drug and alcohol abuse, negligent treatment of patients, improper referral services, or failing to properly supervise or utilize unlicensed assistants. The Board will also receive notice of and take action for a variety of criminal offenses including driving under the influence of alcohol.
As a physical therapist, you take pride in treating your patients and you have spent a great deal of time and money developing your skills and educational background. This is why you must take seriously any allegation against you.
