Community Involvement

At Rothschild Wishek & Sands LLP, our attorneys enjoy a longstanding and deep commitment to the Sacramento community and nearby areas in Northern California.  Through contributing  criminal defense legal services at no cost to members of professional associations, providing time and direct financial support to charitable and civic organizations, and sharing our expertise by presenting educational seminars to both the legal community and general public, members of the firm are actively involved in community service not only within the Sacramento region but throughout California and the United States.

Continuing Community Support

Through direct financial support and contributions of time by firm attorneys, continuing support is provided to the following public and private organizations:

Continuing Education

The experience and expertise of the firm's attorneys are recognized both within and outside of the legal community.  Our attorneys have presented formal courses and continuing education seminars to criminal defense attorneys at statewide workshops and international conferences.   Outside of the legal profession, our lawyers have taught continuing education courses to groups ranging from public school teachers to law enforcement detectives seeking specialty certification.  National media appearances have included "The Today Show," "20-20," and "60 Minutes."  Our audiences have included:

Group Legal Services

Dues paying members of the California Teachers Association and of the California School Employees Association may consult with the firm's attorneys, at no personal expense to the union member, with reference to any job-related allegation of criminal conduct.   All initial contacts with the firm must be through a local union representative.  Members of the California Teachers Association should ask their local representative for a Group Legal Services referral form to be signed by both the union representative and teacher.  Members of the California School Employees Association should request referral to the firm by their local union representative with authority of CSEA counsel in San Jose.

In some cases, where legal assistance is sought prior to the filing of criminal charges against a union member, the CTA and/or CSEA will itself fund a portion of the attorney fees necessary to resolve the union member's problem.  That determination is made upon an individual basis by the respective employee organization.

We are pleased to offer this service and look forward to visiting with union members regarding their legal matters.  For concerns that are not job-related, or for clients who do not belong to any group legal services associations, contact Rothschild Wishek & Sands LLP directly to speak with an attorney.
